Summit Log

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 14, 2026

Summit Log runs entirely on your Mac and talks only to Apple. It signs in to the App Store Connect API with an API key you provide, stores that key in your Mac's Keychain, and keeps its history on your Mac. There is no Fourteener Labs account, server, advertising, or analytics — nothing you see in Summit Log is ever sent to us.

What Summit Log Does

Summit Log is a macOS menu-bar utility for app developers. It shows the apps on your App Store Connect account — review states, ratings, recent customer reviews, and daily download counts — and notifies you when an app's review state changes. Fourteener Labs, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) does not operate a server for Summit Log, does not receive your data, and cannot see your fleet.

Your App Store Connect API Key

To do its job, Summit Log needs an App Store Connect API key that you generate in your own Apple Developer account (issuer ID, key ID, and a .p8 private key file). When you add the key, Summit Log stores it in a single item in your Mac's login Keychain, protected by macOS. The key is not synced to iCloud by Summit Log and is never transmitted anywhere. It is used only on your Mac, to sign short-lived tokens that authenticate requests directly to Apple's App Store Connect API. Removing the key in Settings (or deleting the Keychain item) severs Summit Log's access entirely.

Information Stored on Your Mac

Summit Log keeps a small local history so it can show an event feed and, later, trends: fleet events (review-state changes, new reviews, new versions) and daily download totals, stored in a database at ~/Library/Application Support/SummitLog/. Your settings (poll interval, notification preferences, hidden apps) are stored in standard macOS preferences. All of this stays on your Mac, and you can delete it at any time by removing that folder.

Network Use — Apple Only

Summit Log makes network requests to exactly two places: Apple's App Store Connect API (api.appstoreconnect.apple.com) for your apps, versions, reviews, and sales reports, and Apple's public iTunes Lookup service (itunes.apple.com) for public rating summaries. Requests to Apple necessarily include the data needed to authenticate and respond — that traffic is between your Mac and Apple, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and your developer agreement. Summit Log can also open a dashboard running locally on your own Mac (127.0.0.1); that connection never leaves your machine.

Information We Do Not Collect

Summit Log contains no Fourteener Labs analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDK. We do not receive or sell your:

Your Data, Your Control

Everything Summit Log knows lives on your Mac: the Keychain item holding your API key and the local history folder. You can remove either at any time — Settings → Credentials → Remove credentials deletes the API key from the Keychain, and Settings → Erase history deletes the local event feed and download history. The two are independent. Delete both and no trace of your use of Summit Log remains anywhere, because nothing was ever stored anywhere else.

Notifications

Notifications are delivered by macOS and can name the app, version, review state, or review text. If you'd rather keep those details off a locked screen, turn on Settings → Redact notification text for a generic message instead, and/or hide previews system-wide in System Settings → Notifications → Summit Log. Notification content is composed on your Mac and never sent to Fourteener Labs.

Security

Your API key is held in the macOS Keychain, and history files are ordinary files in your user Library protected by your macOS user account. Anyone with access to your unlocked Mac and Keychain could access them, so keep your Mac secure. Treat your App Store Connect API key like a password: if it may have been exposed, revoke it in App Store Connect and generate a new one.

Children's Privacy

Summit Log is a developer tool, is not directed to children under 13, and Fourteener Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
