What Summit Log Does

Summit Log is a macOS menu-bar utility for app developers. It shows the apps across the App Store Connect accounts you add — release journeys, store trends, review states, ratings, recent customer reviews, proceeds, and daily download and in-app purchase counts — in the menu bar and in optional desktop widgets, and notifies you when an app's review state changes. Fourteener Labs, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) does not operate a server for Summit Log, does not receive your data, and cannot see your fleet.

Your App Store Connect API Key

To do its job, Summit Log needs an App Store Connect API key for each team you add (issuer ID, key ID, and a .p8 private key file). Summit Log stores those credentials in your Mac's login Keychain, protected by macOS. They are not synced to iCloud by Summit Log and are never sent to Fourteener Labs. They are used only on your Mac to sign short-lived tokens that authenticate requests directly to Apple's App Store Connect API. Removing an account severs Summit Log's access to that team without affecting the others.

Information Stored on Your Mac

Summit Log keeps a small local history so it can show an event feed, release journeys, and trends: fleet events and the markers Summit Log uses to detect changes, daily download and in-app purchase totals, one storefront rating snapshot per app per day, and account-scoped daily analytics aggregates, stored in a database at ~/Library/Application Support/SummitLog/. Raw Analytics Report files are parsed in memory rather than retained. When an update changes the database format, Summit Log keeps a copy of the previous file in the same folder. For the desktop widgets, Summit Log writes a small display copy of your visible fleet (names, versions, review states, ratings, and yesterday's counts) and app icons to its own App Group folder in ~/Library/Group Containers/, readable only by Summit Log and its widgets; Demo data is never written there. Your settings are stored in standard macOS preferences. A separate device-local, non-synchronizing Keychain item and macOS preference remember when the ten-day preview began, so removing credentials or history does not restart it. All of this stays on your Mac.

Purchases and Existing-User Access

The lifetime unlock is purchased and verified through Apple's StoreKit. Summit Log checks Apple-signed transaction information on your Mac to confirm a lifetime purchase and to recognize people whose original download was version 1.0 or 1.1. Apple processes the purchase under its own privacy policy. Summit Log does not send purchase details to Fourteener Labs, and we do not operate a purchase or entitlement server.

Network Use — Apple Only

Summit Log makes network requests to exactly two places: Apple's App Store Connect API (api.appstoreconnect.apple.com) and Apple-provided Analytics Report download URLs for your apps, versions, reviews, sales, and opted-in store trends; and Apple's public iTunes Lookup service (itunes.apple.com) for public rating summaries. Requests to Apple necessarily include the data needed to authenticate and respond — that traffic is between your Mac and Apple, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and your developer agreement.

Information We Do Not Collect

Summit Log contains no Fourteener Labs analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDK. We do not receive or sell your:

• App Store Connect API key, issuer ID, or any credential;
• app list, sales figures, ratings, reviews, or review states;
• device identifiers, location, contacts, or browsing activity; or
• name, email address, or any account information — Summit Log has no account.

Your Data, Your Control

Everything Summit Log knows lives on your Mac: the Keychain items holding your API keys and preview start, the local history folder, and ordinary macOS preferences. You can remove any team under Settings → Credentials → Remove account, and Settings → Erase history deletes the local event feed, download and purchase totals, rating snapshots, and trend aggregates; removing every account also empties the widgets. The controls are independent and intentionally do not erase or restart the preview clock. Nothing is stored on a Fourteener Labs server.

Notifications

Notifications — review-state changes, new reviews, the daily summary, the approved-build reminder, and unusual-activity alerts — are delivered by macOS and can name the app, version, review state, review text, or download counts. If you'd rather keep those details off a locked screen, turn on Settings → Redact notification text for a generic message instead, and/or hide previews system-wide in System Settings → Notifications → Summit Log. Notification content is composed on your Mac and never sent to Fourteener Labs.

Security

Your API key is held in the macOS Keychain, and history files are ordinary files in your user Library protected by your macOS user account. Anyone with access to your unlocked Mac and Keychain could access them, so keep your Mac secure. Treat your App Store Connect API key like a password: if it may have been exposed, revoke it in App Store Connect and generate a new one.

Children's Privacy

Summit Log is a developer tool, is not directed to children under 13, and Fourteener Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Summit Log changes. The current version will remain posted here with its effective date.
