Data Storage & Collection

All data you enter into Recall — including your pet profiles, walk routes, medication records, health logs, feeding schedules, grooming tasks, activity logs, photos, and Pro Mode client information — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

In the current version of Recall, all data is stored on your device only. Recall does not upload your data anywhere — we do not operate any servers and have no access to your data. iCloud sync between your own devices is planned for a future update and will be optional when it arrives.

Data is collected only through your direct manual input within the app (such as adding a pet, logging a walk, or taking a photo) and, optionally, through your device's location services and camera when you grant permission. Recall does not collect data passively, automatically, or in the background beyond active GPS walk tracking that you explicitly initiate.

Data We Do Not Collect

Recall does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following to our servers or any third party:

• Personal identification information (your name, email, or address)
• Location data outside of walks you actively initiate
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Advertising identifiers or device fingerprints
• Contact lists or address book data
• Financial information or payment details
• Any data about your pets, medications, or veterinary records

Location Services

Recall uses your device's GPS to track walk routes when you explicitly start a walk. Location data is recorded only during active walk tracking and is stored locally on your device. Your location is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Recall also requests background location access so that walk tracking can continue while the app is in the background during an active walk — for example, when your phone is in your pocket or you switch to another app. Location captured during an active walk, including while the app is in the background, becomes part of the saved walk route stored on your device. Background location is never used outside of a walk you have started, and tracking stops when you end the walk.

You can revoke location access at any time through your device's Settings. The app will continue to function for all non-walk features without location access.

Camera & Photo Access

Recall may request access to your camera for capturing pet photos during walks, creating pet profile pictures, and scanning veterinary documents. Recall may also request access to your photo library for selecting existing images. All images are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or shared externally.

iCloud Sync (Planned)

The current version of Recall does not sync data between devices — all data lives on the device where it was created. Optional iCloud sync via Apple's CloudKit is planned for a future update; if you enable it when it becomes available, that data flow will occur entirely within your personal iCloud account under Apple's Privacy Policy, and this policy will be updated to describe it. Your device's standard iOS backup (iCloud or computer backup) may include Recall's data like any other app's, and can be used to move your data to a new device.

Pro Mode & Client Data

If you use Recall's Pro Mode for professional pet sitting or dog walking, client information you enter (names, addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, and home access details) is stored locally on your device. Sensitive information such as home access codes is encrypted on your device. We do not have access to any client data you enter.

Walk report cards that you generate and share are created locally on your device. The act of sharing (via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, etc.) is handled by iOS and is entirely under your control.

In-App Purchases

Recall offers an optional in-app purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or purchase history. All transactions are governed by Apple's privacy policy and terms of service.

Siri Shortcuts

Recall offers Siri Shortcuts that access your pet data stored on your device. This data never leaves your device and is used only to perform actions you have configured, such as logging medications or starting walks. No data is transmitted externally through Siri Shortcuts.

Third-Party Services

Recall does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use services like Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Firebase, or any ad networks. No user data is shared with any third party, parent company, subsidiary, or affiliated entity. The only third-party service involved in the app experience is Apple's App Store for processing in-app purchases, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention & Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device, Recall does not retain any of your data on external servers. Your data persists for as long as the app is installed and you choose to keep it.

You can delete individual records — such as pets, walks, medications, health records, feedings, grooming tasks, activity logs, photos, clients, or visits — at any time from within the app. You can also use the "Delete All Data" option in the app's Settings to permanently remove all Recall data from your device.

If you delete the Recall app from your device, all locally stored data is permanently removed. If your device backups (iCloud or computer) include Recall, copies of your data may persist inside those backups until the backups themselves are updated or deleted.

Your Rights & Consent

You have full control over your data and any permissions granted to Recall:

• Revoke location access: Go to your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Recall, and select "Never."
• Revoke camera or photo access: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera (or Photos) > Recall, and disable access.
• Delete specific data: Remove individual pets, walks, medications, health records, or other entries directly within the app.
• Delete all data: Use Settings > "Delete All Data" within the app, or uninstall Recall to permanently remove all locally stored data.
• Request assistance: If you have any questions about managing or deleting your data, contact us at support@fourteenerlabs.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Because Recall does not collect or transmit data to external servers, there is no account to close and no remote data to request deletion of. All data management happens entirely on your device.

Children's Privacy

Recall is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from minors.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
