Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my data stored?
Everything is stored locally on your Mac using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers and have no access to your data. There are no accounts and no sign-in.
Does Cardsworth connect to my banks or card accounts?
No. Cardsworth never links to banks, issuers, or aggregators โ there are no logins and no imported transactions. Every card and number in the app is one you entered yourself. That's by design: nothing to breach, and it works entirely offline.
Does Cardsworth sync between my Macs?
Not in this version. Each Mac keeps its own data. You can move your data to another Mac with Migration Assistant or a Time Machine restore, or by using Settings > Export to save a JSON backup and importing it on the other Mac.
Will my data transfer to a new Mac?
Yes โ your data moves when you set up a new Mac from a Time Machine backup or with Migration Assistant. You can also export a JSON backup from Settings and import it on the new machine.
Does Cardsworth require an internet connection?
No. Cardsworth works entirely offline. A connection is only needed for the App Store purchase and to restore it.
How does the free trial and pricing work?
Cardsworth is free to download with a 14-day free trial of every feature. After the trial, a single one-time purchase unlocks the app for life โ there is no subscription and no recurring charge. Your data stays on your Mac and stays exportable either way, even before you buy.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings within the app and choose "Restore Purchases." This re-activates your unlock using your Apple ID โ make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings > Export. You can export a spreadsheet (XLSX), a folder of CSV sheets, or a full JSON backup. Cardsworth also writes a JSON backup automatically before destructive actions like erase or import.
A card or benefit I have isn't in the catalog.
Use "Create custom card" on the Add Cards screen to add any card yourself, including its annual fee and benefits, and pick which person holds it. You can add, edit, or remove benefits (with a reset cadence) on any card from that card's "Manage Benefits" section.
The catalog shows an out-of-date fee or credit.
Card terms change often. The built-in catalog is verified periodically, but you can edit any card's fee and benefits directly, and issuer terms should always be confirmed with your issuer. Cardsworth is an organizational tool, not financial advice.
Is Cardsworth affiliated with my card issuer?
No. Cardsworth is an independent product from Fourteener Labs and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card issuer, bank, or rewards program. Card names and terms in the app are reference records โ always verify current details with your issuer.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual records from within the app at any time, or use Settings > "Erase all data" to remove everything (a backup is written first). Deleting the app from your Mac also removes its local data. See our

What macOS version is required?
Cardsworth requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
