Cardsworth

Everything is stored locally on your Mac using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers and have no access to your data. There are no accounts and no sign-in.

Partly, as of version 1.2. Cardsworth offers an optional Touch ID or password app lock (Settings › Privacy & App Lock) that keeps the window and menu-bar panel behind authentication. The local database and JSON backups themselves are still unencrypted, so we also recommend turning on FileVault and protecting your macOS account with a strong login password. As of version 1.3, any card number you save is the exception — it's encrypted in your Mac's keychain, kept on that device only, and shown in full only after Touch ID (no security code/CVV is ever stored). Cardsworth is designed for U.S.-issued cards, U.S. English, and U.S. dollars. You can create custom cards, but mixed-currency totals and localized interface text are not supported yet.

No. Cardsworth never links to banks, issuers, or aggregators — there are no logins and no imported transactions. Every card and number in the app is one you entered yourself. That's by design: nothing to breach, and it works entirely offline.

Not in this version. Each Mac keeps its own data. You can move your data to another Mac with Migration Assistant or a Time Machine restore, or by using Settings > Export to save a JSON backup and importing it on the other Mac. Saved card numbers stay on the original Mac (they are device-only keychain items and are never in backups), so re-enter them on the other Mac.

Yes — your data moves when you set up a new Mac from a Time Machine backup or with Migration Assistant. You can also export a JSON backup from Settings and import it on the new machine. The one exception is saved card numbers: they are kept only in the original Mac's keychain, so re-enter them on the new Mac.

No. Cardsworth works entirely offline. A connection is needed for App Store purchases and restores, or when you choose to open an issuer source link in your browser.

Yes. Turn on Reminders in Settings for on-device notifications before statement credits expire, annual fees post, and bonus-spend or certificate deadlines hit. There's also a menu bar checklist of this month's unclaimed credits, six desktop widgets, and a calendar (.ics) export of every deadline. It's all generated on your Mac from your own data — nothing leaves the device.

Hover any computed figure — ROI, the fee verdict, capture percentage, a redemption grade, your 5/24 count — for a plain-language explanation of how it's calculated. The short first-run tips that appear when you add your first card can be replayed any time from the Help > Show Tips Again menu.

Cardsworth is free to download with a 14-day free trial of every feature. After the trial, a single one-time purchase unlocks the app for life — there is no subscription and no recurring charge. If you never buy, the app switches to read-only: everything you entered stays browsable and exportable on your Mac, free, forever — your data is never held hostage.

Open Settings within the app and choose "Restore Purchases." This re-activates your unlock using your Apple ID — make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Go to Settings > Export. You can export a spreadsheet (XLSX), a folder of CSV sheets, or a full JSON backup. Cardsworth also writes a JSON backup automatically before destructive actions like erase or import.

Use "Create custom card" on the Add Cards screen to add any card yourself, including its annual fee and benefits, and pick which person holds it. You can add, edit, or remove benefits (with a reset cadence) on any card from that card's "Manage Benefits" section.

The catalog contains 146 cards and updates through free app releases. Every benefit shows the issuer source it was checked against and the date it was individually verified; version 1.5 re-verified every benefit in September 2026. Benefits past their review date appear in the in-app review list. Your benefit edits and usage history survive refreshes. In Account Terms & Eligibility, confirm membership requirements, statement closing day and the terms that apply to your account. In Eligibility & personal value, record enrollment, qualifying purchases and per-use counts for the appropriate period. Issuer terms determine actual eligibility.

No. Cardsworth is an independent product from Fourteener Labs and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card issuer, bank, or rewards program. Card names and terms in the app are reference records — always verify current details with your issuer.

Delete individual records from within the app at any time, or use Settings › Data Controls › "Erase Everything" to clear everything. A backup is written immediately beforehand, and the erase dialog offers a checkbox to delete every saved backup too — it shows you how many there are, and it's off by default so you keep a recovery point. If you leave it unchecked, those snapshot files stay on your Mac until you remove them (Settings › Backups › "Reveal folder"). In version 1.3.1 and earlier, remove saved card numbers from each card ("Remove card number") before you erase; as of version 1.4, the erase deletes them too. Deleting the app on its own does not remove its data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
