Cardsworth

Everything is stored locally on your Mac using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers and have no access to your data. There are no accounts and no sign-in.

Partly, as of version 1.2. Cardsworth offers an optional Touch ID or password app lock (Settings › Privacy & App Lock) that keeps the window and menu-bar panel behind authentication. The local database and JSON backups themselves are still unencrypted, so we also recommend turning on FileVault and protecting your macOS account with a strong login password. Version 1.0 is designed for U.S.-issued cards, U.S. English, and U.S. dollars. You can create custom cards, but mixed-currency totals and localized interface text are not supported yet.

No. Cardsworth never links to banks, issuers, or aggregators — there are no logins and no imported transactions. Every card and number in the app is one you entered yourself. That's by design: nothing to breach, and it works entirely offline.

Not in this version. Each Mac keeps its own data. You can move your data to another Mac with Migration Assistant or a Time Machine restore, or by using Settings > Export to save a JSON backup and importing it on the other Mac.

Yes — your data moves when you set up a new Mac from a Time Machine backup or with Migration Assistant. You can also export a JSON backup from Settings and import it on the new machine.

No. Cardsworth works entirely offline. A connection is only needed for the App Store purchase and to restore it.

Yes. Turn on Reminders in Settings for on-device notifications before statement credits expire, annual fees post, and bonus-spend or certificate deadlines hit. There's also a menu bar checklist of this month's unclaimed credits, six desktop widgets, and a calendar (.ics) export of every deadline. It's all generated on your Mac from your own data — nothing leaves the device.

Hover any computed figure — ROI, the fee verdict, capture percentage, a redemption grade, your 5/24 count — for a plain-language explanation of how it's calculated. The short first-run tips that appear when you add your first card can be replayed any time from the Help > Show Tips Again menu.

Cardsworth is free to download with a 14-day free trial of every feature. After the trial, a single one-time purchase unlocks the app for life — there is no subscription and no recurring charge. If you never buy, the app switches to read-only: everything you entered stays browsable and exportable on your Mac, free, forever — your data is never held hostage.

Open Settings within the app and choose "Restore Purchases." This re-activates your unlock using your Apple ID — make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Go to Settings > Export. You can export a spreadsheet (XLSX), a folder of CSV sheets, or a full JSON backup. Cardsworth also writes a JSON backup automatically before destructive actions like erase or import.

Use "Create custom card" on the Add Cards screen to add any card yourself, including its annual fee and benefits, and pick which person holds it. You can add, edit, or remove benefits (with a reset cadence) on any card from that card's "Manage Benefits" section.

Card terms change often. The built-in catalog is re-verified against each issuer's own pages and refreshed with free app updates — cards you already hold update automatically the next time you open the app, anything you added yourself stays as you left it, and every built-in card shows the issuer page it was checked against (Cardsworth 1.1 checked all 125 cards in August 2026). Limited-time offers show their expiry and benefits that need enrollment say so. You can still edit any card's fee and benefits directly, and issuer terms should always be confirmed with your issuer. Cardsworth is an organizational tool, not financial advice.

No. Cardsworth is an independent product from Fourteener Labs and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card issuer, bank, or rewards program. Card names and terms in the app are reference records — always verify current details with your issuer.

Delete individual records from within the app at any time, or use Settings > "Erase all data" to clear everything. A backup is written immediately beforehand, and the erase dialog offers a checkbox to delete every saved backup too — it shows you how many there are, and it's off by default so you keep a recovery point. If you leave it unchecked, those snapshot files stay on your Mac until you remove them (Settings > "Reveal Backups in Finder"). Deleting the app from your Mac removes all of its local data at once.
