Dipstick
Terms of Use
By downloading or using Dipstick, you agree to these Terms of Use. Dipstick is an independent utility from Fourteener Labs, LLC and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI or Anthropic.
1. Acceptance
These terms are between you and Fourteener Labs, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your use of the Dipstick macOS app (the “App”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. License
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Macs you own or control. You may not redistribute, rent, lease, sublicense, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to circumvent the App’s purchase controls except where applicable law expressly permits it.
3. Your Provider Accounts
Dipstick uses one or more ChatGPT, Codex, or Claude sign-ins that you explicitly authorize through a provider-owned web page or a selected Codex credential file. You represent that every credential and account you add belongs to you or that you have permission to use it. You are responsible for protecting your Mac, credential files, web sessions, and provider accounts and for all activity performed with your credentials.
You must use Dipstick in compliance with applicable law and the current terms and policies of OpenAI and Anthropic, as applicable. Do not use Dipstick to access another person’s account, evade restrictions or rate limits, automate prohibited extraction, interfere with a provider’s services, or obtain data you are not authorized to access.
4. Independent Product and Service Availability
OpenAI and Anthropic do not publish or control Dipstick. Either provider may change, restrict, or discontinue the web endpoints, authentication format, data fields, limits, or services on which the App depends at any time. As a result, some or all Dipstick functionality may become unavailable without notice, even when the App itself has not changed.
OpenAI, ChatGPT, Codex, Anthropic, and Claude are trademarks of their respective owners. References to them describe compatibility and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
5. Usage Information
Dipstick displays data returned by OpenAI or Anthropic and calculations derived from that data, including pace, projections, and history built from periodic local samples. These displays are informational estimates. We do not promise that they are complete, current, uninterrupted, or identical to information shown elsewhere. Always rely on the applicable provider’s official service for authoritative account status and limits.
6. Free and Pro Features
Dipstick includes free functionality, a time-limited trial of the Pro features, and an optional one-time, non-consumable Pro purchase. The menu-bar gauge, current limits, account switching, local limit history, pace, and burn-rate projections are always free. Pro unlocks the detailed dashboard and 90-day analytics, custom limit alerts, an optional weekly digest, and CSV export.
New installations include a 10-day free trial during which the Pro features are unlocked. The trial requires no payment and does not automatically convert to a purchase; when it ends, the Pro features lock unless you buy the one-time unlock, while the free features continue to work. The trial is tracked locally on your Mac and is not a subscription or an auto-renewing offer. Reinstalling or resetting the app does not guarantee an additional trial.
Pro is a single, one-time, non-consumable purchase — not a subscription. The App Store displays the current price before purchase. Apple processes payment, refunds, family sharing where applicable, and purchase restoration under Apple’s terms. Purchases are tied to the Apple Account used for the transaction and can be restored through the App.
7. Your Data
Fourteener Labs does not operate a Dipstick data server. Settings, account bookmarks or isolated web-session stores, and account-specific usage-limit samples are stored locally on your Mac; requests for each account’s data go directly to OpenAI or Anthropic, as applicable. Dipstick may preserve separate local recovery copies when importing older history or encountering unreadable history. Clearing active history or removing an account from the app does not automatically remove recovery copies or retained account-history folders. You are responsible for securing, backing up, and removing your local data as desired. See the Privacy Policy for the exact data flow and deletion controls.
8. Updates and Changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain compatibility, security, or legal compliance. We do not guarantee a particular feature or third-party integration will remain available. App updates may be required for continued operation.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, SECURITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FOURTEENER LABS, LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF ACCESS, ACCOUNT ACTION, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM THE APP OR A THIRD-PARTY SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may terminate this license if you materially violate these terms. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law, will survive.
12. Apple Terms
These terms are between you and Fourteener Labs, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or required to provide support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Apple’s standard App Store license terms also apply.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Colorado law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Colorado will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you additional rights or requires another forum.
14. Changes, Severability, and Contact
We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Questions can be sent to support@fourteenerlabs.com.
